Expanding Into New Markets
In 2018, buildABILITY Corporation undertook studies and analyses for IBC Technologies Inc. to establish the comparative advantage of the IBC Dual Fired Appliance versus the standard builder offering. A marketing study was completed to consider how to expand IBC’s product into new markets in Ontario. The firm convened a builder/mechanical contractor focus group to identify barriers to product adoption, key factors influencing the adoption of new equipment, and decision makers within the builder and associated companies. Capital, operating, and lifecycle costs were analyzed to identify any financial benefits of the Dual Fired Appliance compared to systems typically installed in new homes. Findings from the market study, builder/contractor focus group, and observations of the project team were used to develop final recommendations.
