ECC EIFS Design Awards Program 2017-18
buildABILITY undertook all program planning, delivery, and architects and media engagement tasks for the ECC EIFS Design Awards Program 2017-18. The Awards program aims to increase awareness of EIFS as a cladding and address the associated misconceptions by celebrating and supporting outstanding EIFS buildings.
CELEBRATING EIFS BUILDINGS
EIFS as a cladding system is poorly understood and often riddled with misconceptions. Particularly from designers and architects that focus on the liability issues of the past. Their knowledge and information about EIFS are from a time in the past and are not accurate. The EIFS Council of Canada recognized this disconnect and wanted to address these preconceived misconceptions about EIFS. buildABILITY proposed to begin this new conversation with architects by creating an Awards program that celebrated and supported outstanding EIFS buildings. buildABILITY undertook all program planning, delivery, and architects and media engagement tasks, including:
- Establishing the Awards framework and judging panels,
- Facilitating the judging process,
- Creating the website/web portal,
- Coordinating submissions andpress releases, and
- Planning the Awards dinner
- Designing and producing a commemorative photo book
